Used for measuring main and rod bearing clearances without needed expensive bore dial gauges

CTA Plastiguage is often used for measuring bearing clearances between the journals on the crankshaft and the bearing surface. Essentially, the little wax strip mushrooms out as the bearing cap in installed. After removal you can measure the gap by comparing how flattened the wax strip is to the measurement tool included in the packaging. This is also great for use on basic engine rebuilds as well. Comes with 2450x01 - size: .001-.003" (green) and 2450x02 - size: .002-.006" (red) sizing.
